“Shet, nahilo ako sa amoy ng kuwarto mo,” I said still panting from the just-concluded activity.

“Ganyan pala ang effect sa inyo ng poppers… nahihilo kayo…” answered the host.

It was my first time to smell it. Indirectly. This guy was inhaling it while someone else was working on my jewels down below. I felt pleasure — but dizzy, my knees wobbly. Was confused, was it the effect of the alcohol I downed before I came to the place, or was it the effect of that “acetone-like” smell? Meanwhile, another guy moaned, he said his head was aching because of the smell. The guy below me was soft all throughout.

Poppers is the street term for various alkyl nitrites taken for recreational purposes through direct inhalation, particularly amyl nitrite, butyl nitrite and isobutyl nitrite. Amyl nitrite has a centuries-long history of use in treating angina, as well as an antidote to cyanide poisoning Amyl nitrite and several other alkyl nitrites which are used in over-the-counter products, such as air fresheners and video head cleaners, may be inhaled to enhance sexual pleasure. Use is particularly prominent among gay urban men. These products have long been part of the club culture from the 1970s disco scene to the 1980s and 1990s rave scene. [Source: Wikipedia]

“Di naman drugs ang poppers. Kailangan lang timing sa pag-singhot,” said the host.

I don’t know about him, but I prefer doing it au naturelle.

I hate it when people claim poppers aren’t “real” drugs. It’s stupidity in itself (pardon my saying this).

Life is so much better without chemical additives. =P

First came across it in G-A-Y nightclub in London. The dizziness is from postural hypotension that results widening of the blood vessels and pooling of blood in the lower extremities. Poppers have serious drug interaction with PDE5 Inhibitors such as Viagra.

Hmmm… sexy… but ingat lang mga bro. Poppers are “drugs” in its nature. Or atleast how we define it. Ingats lang po, I’m a Clinical Pharmacist going to specialize in toxicology, there’s such a thing as nitrite poisoning.

The major acute toxic effect from nitrite is development of methaemoglobinaemia, a condition where more than 10% of the haemoglobin is transformed into methaemoglobin. Meaning, it reduces the capacity of your blood to carry oxygen, thus ung presentation nya is cyanosis.

Tapos kaya sya nagamit for angina is because it has a vasodilator effect kaya if mapoison, baka magka hypotension ka.

Hematological effects include blue-greyish cyanosis that may appear within a few minutes to 45 minutes or more after exposure.

Stupor, coma and convulsions in severe poisoning due to severe hypoxia. Tachycardia, hypotension and collapse may also occur. Nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain may be seen.

Ay oo nga pala, I think yung poppers nasa amyl or butyl nitrite na form. Kasi, me studies na nagsasabi na poppers would have an Immunosuppresive property, meaning, papababain nya yung immune system mo, thus you are more susceptible to STDs hindi lang HIV.

Wow! I’m really amazed at the maturity of comments here. In the states poppers are as common a part of gay culture as a love for Barbara — two things I personally don’t have a great fondness for. =)

i had sex once with a guy who always had poppers. it was really effin’ great. when i asked him to try having sex with me without poppers, it became kinda boring.

so point is, it only takes one person (preferably the bottom) to take one in order to have a wild night.

Reminds me of the same entry I did about poppers several months ago. :)

    ===

“After it was finished, the chinito got up and directly went to the dresser. He tucked the dirty white towel around his waist and quietly proceeded to the bathroom to take a shower. The tall good-looking bot went to get his pack of cigarette. He then sat in one corner, puffing a stick of Marlboro Lights, while waiting for the first to finish his shower. For the rest of my stay, he just fell silent. It appears like he was desperately trying to isolate himself from us, after displaying his relentless addiction to pricks several minutes earlier. He was a good sucker you know, or probably, it was the effect of the Poppers the first one let me inhale. The stocky, commanding third tried to appear cool. Together with the first, they were the epitome of someone who just came from a guiltless trip. He was my contact though, and if not for my own curiosity and restlessness, I would never be in such place.

But in all fairness, he was the one who made me feel most welcome.

Without him, I would never get my vindication from a previous humiliating experience when I attempted to join such scene.”

well, I have a friend who used it to uhm, loosen his sphincter. Some guys get it good if you give them a whiff.

But the effect of losing an erection, great if you’re a bot.
