How old was the guy who played Antonio? I don’t know it kinda bothered me since he looks too you and I felt like I was watching underage porn for some of the sex scenes since he was fully nude and you can kinda see his junk and dakma talaga kung dakma ang drama nung ibang sex scenes.

Like antonio, My life is so complicated. I too am a closet gay, i admit it now. But if i broke my family and friends’ hearts, i wont be happy. I have someone special right now. We were so inlove. But now, we’re beginning to realize things. That our relationship wont be like this forever, someday we will have a wife, children like that. Well its so complicated to adjust. The more I tried the more Im afraid and the more Im falling in love with him. Everybody respects me and thinks Im straight. Frankly I have the looks, appeal and body. I dont have anyone to talk about this with, so my heart and mind is deeply confused, frustrated and miserable. I have no outlet. Although Im used to living a straight life, and I can say Im happy nman with it. But everything changes as I think of the love of my life. I love him very much. We shed tears together, been to college together, do stuffs and activities together. We have so much in common. I dont want to lose him. And recently since we were both going through this dilemma, in order for us to be together, we will be best friends or like brothers. In that way, we will forever be connected with each other, and no one will get hurt. But one thing I dont know how will I adjust with… Him having girlfriend. I always cry at night. I always think about him all the time. I always think of problems even if they dont come yet. I love him very much. Sorry for this long comment. Its my first time to express myself though anonymously. Hope there is someone in the same boat could talk to me. I feel na nababaliw na talaga ako sa kanya. But in his side, nakakayanan nman nya magadjust. Im not yet mature, I still think, live and move like a kid. Thats why stuff like this is so complicated. Hope I have someone to talk to.

I think a lot of gay men go through that trial because of “the love that dare not speak its name”.
I don’t mean to belittle your experience. Quite the opposite really. Why does “Lihim ni Antonio”, “Daybreak”, “Latter Days” etc resound and touch us so profoundly? Because there are themes or scenes in these movies that we can relate too. Relate to a lot.

Your story is similar to a lot of people. Your request, that you have someone to talk to or someone who will just listen to you, is also a common. Where am I going with this?

There used to be groups that did this, have meet ups weekly to discuss topics about gay life and its ups and downs. An honest to goodness discussion (not a mask for hookups) of varied age groups, with no discrimination whatsoever and all that is required is an open mind and heart. Not many groups are around anymore for varied reasons…. Several friends are toying with the idea of starting something similar soon. The only question that we need to iron out is logistics…

Clash of the swishy movies
There’s an on-going clash between the gay-oriented movies, superficially Jay Alterejos’“Ang Lihim ni Antonio” and Adolf Alix, Jr.’s “Daybreak,” as to which is the highest grossing digital gay movie in the history of local cinema. There’s really no argument. “Ang Lihim” showed in a full-size theater in Robinsons Galleria while “Daybreak” at the smaller-sized Indie Sine. There’s no apple-to-apple comparison. The certified record, therefore, belongs to “Ang Lihim.” For three days, it hit almost P.7 million in ticket sales which made Jay jump with joy. This makes its predecessor “Ang Lalake Sa Parola” slide to the number two slot. “Ang Lihim ni Antonio” entered third week of screening at Robinsons Galleria this week. It will open in Sta. Lucia East and Gotesco Grand Central on March 5.

Daybreak has a more indie feel.
Lihim is more commercial, i think.

don’t know your basis for saying that daybreak has more indie feel and that antonio is more commercial. If you notice, the lead actors in antonio are not really well known unlike coco and paolo who are rather known and besides, antonio tackles other issues like the over-all phenomenon and abuse, not just homosexuality. And these issues are not normally tackled in commercial films. It just so happened that anotnio has been packaged as a commercial film. And the fils treatment is a deviation from your “hollywood”/ mainstream films.

Ei.. i had watched the movie and am believing sa sabi nila. The story is free flowing.. smooth yung story tapos biglang may mgashocking revelations na di mo talaga akalain. Ang galing ng script.

I love the scene nung may scene yung lead actor at si Ivan.. an*l sex sila tapos napapungol si lead actor.

The best plot naman para sakin is nung scene na nahuli sila ng mommy niya getting fucked (that really sucks!)

Part 2: isa pa pala, yung scene na tinatanong nung lead actor kung ano ba yung experience niya about love.. kung naattract ba siya sa guy… then to summarize is

I like the film, the fact that it tackles one’s hardship of coming out but lucky enough to have one friend who understands him, but the all the scenes that has been portrayed of how a bodding gay person starting to manifest himself really did excites me ( a true to life experience i should say…lol)it mirrors the reality of gays life i supposed, i just don’t like the ending coz its a tragic ending but its highly recommended a must see film for all gayz i can watch it all over again, hopefully it will be shown in the London Gay and Lesbian Film Festival and in SF as well. Congrats to the staff of that film, waiting for more films of the same quality…

BTW, guyz kindly watch “Mga Paru-parong Rosas(pink Butterflies)” from a newcomer film indie director named Jowee Morell-British Pinoy who moved back to Pinas to do some directing and his one of us, this film been shown in the London Gay and Lesbian Festival who got good reviews from the organizers and audiences, two closeted gays who’s hiding to enjoy each others company, with their own stories to tell why they can’t come out, love scenes are really passionate and daring of how two people really want to show to the world that they really love each other as the saying goes….”masarap ang nakaw na pag-
ibig”…so look for it guyz in the video store, you might enjoy and relate to this film and give your support to this newcomer director…. Try watching it Migz and let us know what yah think of the film.
