NEWS FLASH! NEWS FLASH! (1:00 AM, 19 April 2008)
Just got a text message from a friend, now detained at this very moment at the Pasay City Hall. He was at Queeriosity, which was raided moments ago. Anyone who could extend any help, please do so.

Whoa! Seeing as Club Bath is just less than 100 meters away from the Pasay City Hall, and with no history of raid that I’m aware of for the 30 years it’s been existing (I could be wrong of course), I wonder what Queeriosity did or failed to do.

If that’s the case, there might be rivalry issues (between CB and QP) involved.
Thank God my Bath House days are over.

thanks for the comforting calls my friends. nakauwi kami at 4 am.
almost 4 hours at pasay cityhall.
Kakapasok ko lang sa Club. Kakatapos mag shower. I went to the locker area to get my stub for free drinks. Then some men instructed us to get out of the locker area and stay somewhere at the bar area.
medyo nagulat ako kasi paulit-ulit. yun pala mga pulis at may raid “daw” sabi nung katabi ko. waah! nakatapis kaya ako. deadma, kahit pinapaalis na, i stayed at the locker room at nagbihis. sus. nanginginig pa kamay ko pagbubukas ng susi. pero sige. trying to be cool. ” Be cool baby or you’ll end up in jail naked.”
hay. di man lang naka-isa. eto at raid na kaagad. lol.
Inipon kami sa may reception area. Then wilbert, the owner came. “Girls, relax lang kayo ha. Wala tayong ginagawang masama,” he said. Even instructed his staff to be relaxed.
“The policemen” searched the area. Dalawa naposasan. Allegedly, caught in the act daw sabi nung pulis. Mmpp.! Chicken!
Then came boxes of condoms. Then one “policeman” shouted, “bakit may condom? Para saan ang condom?” several times asking the crowd. wala naman pumapansin.
At the back of my head, “hoy mamang pulis ngayon ka lang ba nakakita ng condom at di mo alam kung para saan yan?” Natawa na lang ako.
There were exchange of words with the chief and Wilbert. Then pinosasan si Wilbert. Yun Na!
After four hours, narelease din kami. Thanks Mr. Laywer! Wala naman pong nasaktan.
Mmmm. I guess, we should know our rights kapag ganito ng situation. Ako, I really don’t know what to do at that moment. Fear of being exposed is my primary concern. Some admitted, they are married and have kids. And they will ask everyone’s immediate family to pick us at the Cityhall.( Nya! mabibisto na ako).
Sigh! A very Traumatic experience.
Maybe a HOTLINE (Lawyers) for gays in case such things happen again?
And thanks again friends for the comforting words.

kawawa naman yung mga nahuli..hindi ko lang maisip kung bakit sila hinuli..they went there to unwind and basically f*ck..whats wrong with that?
i feel for the people na hinuli..i hope the government will think twice in “raiding” places where we feel we are accepted..
cheers queers!

the police are not suppose to put costumers behind bars. THAT’S ILLEGAL! im sure they just want to make a point… make sure to give their dues, serve the right pockets, and the business will be safe!

AN EMAIL FROM DANTON REMOTO:
Dear Friends,
At 1 am, a member of the gay community sent me a text message saying that police had raided Queeriosity Bath House in Pasay and brought lots of gay men in the Pasay City Hall. Queeriosity is owned by Wilbert, who also owns Fahrenheit in QC. They were asking me for help, and for me to bring lawyers..
Unfortunately, I slept at 12 midnight. I had gone through two radio interviews and two TV interviews regarding the Cebu rectal-surgery scandal and had taught two summer classes at the Ateneo. I also contacted the lawyer of the victim so Ang Ladlad could extend counseling and legal help to him. was only able to get an update this morning at 8 am.
My friend said the gay men were sent home at four am. When I asked if the gay men paid a “token fe,” my friend did not text back anymore.
What to do when the police raid a bath house?
1. Calmly go with them and make sure you have your ID.
2. Do NOT make a statement if you do not want to, nor sign anything. You should do these in the presence of a lawyer.
3. Do NOT give in to the offers of financial arrangement. You have not done anything wrong. The police raid bath houses before June (school opening) and December (Christmas) because they need money for their families.
Also, the police raid the bath houses in search of sex workers, implying that these places are fronts for prostitution. They still cannot understand that gay men-to-gay men sex is possible. Makitid talaga ang isip nila.
4. After 12 hours (minimum) or 18 hours (maximum), the police should bring you to the fiscal’s office for arraignment, prior to filing a case. If not, you can file a case against the police for illegal detention.
In all the cases we handled against the police, we won because we were able to prove that bath houses and/or gay bars (yung walang nagsasayaw) are not fronts for prostitution at nag-iimbento lang ang mga pulis.
So keep your cool, keep calm, you are entitled to make at least one phone call using the police telephone and to have access to a lawyer.
Just for your guidance. Have a safe life.
Cheers,
Danton Remoto

People, kahit siguro hindi na natin i-compare ang bathhouses natin sa US…we don’t have to look far….kahit sa Singapore na lang natin ihambing….but look at this conservative country where their is suppression in terms of freedom of expression/the press…pero secured ang mga bathhouses nila….come to think of it?

WHAT KIND OF RESPONSE IS THIS? So tama ang mga pulis? kaya hwag nang magtanong-tanong pa why gays are discriminated against in society. Some gays themselves are self-righteous and bash each other — leaving behind key issues confronting them.

What happened to QUEERIOSITY is…
1. A matter of NOT GIVING ENOUGH LAGAY! Ive been to several male-2-male massage places in QC and according to their manager/owner, kailangan maglagay ka every week sa mga police, sa city hall and the inspector!
ORRRRR….
2. The other theory might be true!
Pwedeng dahil bago sila, THREAT sa dating only bathhouse in the area, kaya gumawa ng paraan ang only bathhouse para maraid ang bagong kalaban!
Thats purely business! Mabilis lang naman gawin yun. Nagbigay siguro ng limpak limpak na cash ang only bathhouse sa chief of police… RAID ang QUEERIOSITY!
Now after the raid…
WILL GAY PEOPLE STILL WANT TO GO TO QUEERIOSITY???
They will have second thoughts….
Haaayyyyy….

What can you expect from the world’s worst police force, the Philippine National Police, which is also the largest legally organized criminal group fielding felons in uniform! The fact that you have Filipino policemen and women around you is enough reason to believe that a business won’t survive unless it gives something to the infamous state organization. Paying the Filipino Police is among the things one MUST do when one embarks on a business endeavor. What do you expect to happen to your planned business in a country called the Philippines if you do not pay the damned Filipino Police Force?

to badmintonboy, peace po :). gusto ko lang sana malaman why you mentioned of boycotting Club bath kasi di pa naman napapatunayan na CB nga ang nag-tip sa mga police. agree din siguro ung iba kung sasabihin ko na dun lang ako nakakaramdam na safe ako from raid because of the fact na over 30 years na, di pa na-raid. sabi nga nung isa sa nabasa kong forum, “CB is CB and based on my experiences there, CB has its loyal clientele and I don’t think CB would feel threatened by QP.”. para sa kin, iba ang CB and kahit konti lang pumupunta dun, they did not have to put a room where gay vidz are playing nor walang jacuzzi o iba pa na meron ung epitome, farenheit, etc. para lang mag-attract pa ng maraming clients, and for me, this is a sign na di sila threatened o nakikipagcompete sa ibang gay establishments gaya ng the mansion o big papa na nasa pasay din. Peace. :).
