Thank you, thank you!

Since the “Closet Badet” podcast, I’ve been receiving lots of “thank you” emails from dear MGG readers. I am overwhelmed by the expression of love and appreciation. In this world where criticism is the default, it is refreshing and encouraging to receive such gestures of thankfulness. I give it all back to you dear friends — THANK YOU for being here in MGG! And while I sometimes feel exhausted from blogging, I resolve to continue being here and hosting this wonderful community that has grown around MGG. Here are some excerpts from the emails of dear grateful readers…

I would like to say personally that i am a loyal blog reader from cebu, your blog (manilagayguy.com) and topics are one of the reason’s why i even start blogging. Your latest blog “Closet Badets” was really inspiring, I would like to ask you permission personally that i will re-create your blog in my blog (http://dhonald.multiply.com) so i can spread it here in CEBU. My main purpose is that we have a lot of people here and I know a couple of them. I want to spread this in the efforts to help them in terms of coming out and making them realize that they are not really alone in that situation. Since my PC is not really equipped with proper audio requirements to download the audio file. Can you send me the audio file? I am hoping for a positive response from your end.

I would just want to say thank you for these past years that you’ve put up your blog. Not to sound pandering or anything, its just that, I believe after being closetted and hounded about who I was as a gay christian (oxymoron daw yun sabi nung nasa youtube) I found something like grace in your blog. Sure its not something religious, but the fact that people share, and people come here to your blog with their experiences and their person, no matter how awful they may be, they get to unload (no euphemism intended) what they have to suffer as a disconnected person in this straight world.

thank you for just being there.. thank you for existing… sumulat ako just to say this kasi baka mawalan na ako ng chance, i read your post the other day, yung tungkol sa sentiments mo about writing your blog.. hindi magandang pangitain yun e.. hehe… first it was wanda, tapos sumunod na si q the conqueror at si agent boytoy… kalungkot kung pati ikaw magqquit from blogging… part ka na ng pinoy queer world… for us closeted gays, lumalaya kami when we are in blogs like mgg. sa inyo kami nagkakaroon ng avenue to let go and be the real us. kaya sana wag ka muna magquit.. marami ang malulungkot for sure.. i just want to assure you that no matter how some people put you down, we’ll be always here to support you. hindi mo naman kami pinilit na gustuhin ang blog mo e, it just came naturally. yes, may mga taong ayaw siguro sa yo, pero always remember that there are people who genuinely care for you and your blog…. ok?

Hello! Unlike most of the people you have encountered I am still in
the closet. All locked in inside the closet. i do not have the courage
nor the strenght to come out in the open unlike most of the people
you’ve met.

I always thought that such actions of mine is such a cowardly act and
most oftentimes people i have chatted with in the net always forced me
to come out of the closet etc. I have not shown my face nor my
pictures to anybody whom I have chatted with. Maybe it’s because I
have issues regarding about trust and mistrust.

I came upon your site by accident. I was searching for something in
the net when I was directed to your site. At first I enjoyed reading
your posts because of the pictures you have posted in it. However,
just a few weeks back I began to enjoy visiting your site not because
of the pictures there but of what you were talking about.

For the past years that I have been visiting your site, it is only
recently that i learned about your podcast. I like listening to your
podcast for the reason that you talk sense. For the past years have
been chatting with people it is only now that I discovered that there
are still sensible people to listen to.

I like listening to your discussion regarding the issue of coming out.
To my amazement somebody agreed with my reasons regarding not coming
out. from then on I downloaded all your other podcasts and much to my
delight you really talk sense. For that i would like to thank you for
making life easier. You just don’t know how happy you made me. I hope
that you would continue your blog and continue writing and talking
sense.
