Shopping - Chatuchak every weekends, andito na lahat! Dont go anywhere else, all things you see from all those night markets come from here. Also for clothes naman Pratunam! Building by building dito! Late tayo ng 6 months sa fashion scene dun.
Patpong Gay Bars - Yuckie! Taas AIDS cases dito sa BKK ha.
Pero generally madaling mag buking ng thai parang Pinoy din. Very accomodating. Close to u sila.
Massage, massage, massage, kahit saang kanto meron.
Dont bring PESOS always $, maliit current natin dun. Kahit saang sulok din madaming FOREX Center
Wear proper clothes especially sa temples, wag sasakay sa TukTuk.

suan luum night market for tiangge shopping (apart, of course, from chatuchak weekend market). siam discovery centre for hip fashion & other stuff. baan khanitha resto & gallery (one of the best!) at south sathorn rd. for authentic, honest-to-goodness thai food.

Bangkok Spas and Shopping
Best time to go to Bangkok with the political turmoil, hotel and prices are rock bottom.
Shopping: don’t leave Bangkok without visiting Chatuchak. I’ve virtually furnished my place in Bantayan Island in Cebu with a lot of pieces from Chatuchak brought from my trips to Bangkok. The Lacoste shirts from the official Lacoste stores in bangkok are at least 25% cheaper than Manila. Apart from the difference in price, there’s a “tourist discount” (dont forget to ask for one- bet 10-15%) and a VAT refund, which is given in the airport. Putting these together, you get a fairly hefty cut from Manila prices. For “Brand” items, go to reputable stores only or their official mall shops - still a bargain over Manila however.
I won’t suggest Pratunam, its too much chaos, and the items are too cheap looking. I know for a fact that Pratunam is for Viajeras. Unless you are reselling the items in a tiangge in Manila, its too stressful. Remember, its quite humid in Bangkok and going around Pratunam makes one very sweaty.
Spas
1. Albury - still my favorite in Bangkok (for details look at the male to male massage discussion in this blog).
2. Hero - a very close second. If you don’t want the choices at Albury, Hero is nearby.
3. Baan Tewa
4. Arena at Silom Plaza

Silom Soi 2
I’m surprised no one has mentioned this. This is like the Remedios courtyard of BKK.
Babylon
The mother of all bathhouses in SEA. You have to go there just to see it, just enjoy the place and not the boys.
Chakran
The bathhouse where that local Thais go to if they prefer other Thais. Eyecandy alert! It looks like a 3 story resort with a pool in the middle with men swimming naked.
Patpong Gay Bars
Sleazy as hell and we all love it! Boys of Bangkok are more the masculine to regular types while just a stone throws away is Dreamboys, where the twinks are.
Pattaya
If you are spending a week you can take a short bus ride to Pattaya. Nothing much there but more of the same lovely lovely sleaziness that is in BKK in a beach town setting!

Ptpong is old, {Pattaya is the new haven…much more daring and wild, though Pattaya is not in Bangkok…

Babylon B&B Sauna near Sathorn Rd and Silom Rd - indeed, “the mother of all bath houses in SEA” as above
Silom Rd night market - great t-shirts and other finds!
Suan Luum Night Market in Rama IV - great bargains
Siam Paragon Mall - high end shopping for those who want to splurge
MBK - great bargains
BKK is THE place.

I just visited Thailand in the early quarter of the year. It was my first time but I loved it. My travel was in Bangkok & Pattaya. Guys, when your in Thailand, definitely you must visit Pattaya. In Pattaya, the Tahis are better ’cause they won’t force you on anything. Unlike in Bangkok, I had a bad experience with the Tuktuk Driver and the boys outside the gaybars. For my personal inputs, please find below:
Shopping? For those who wants good pair of jeans at a lower price, you must go to the market area near Baikoye Hotel. The jeans you get at P1K plus, you can get it as low as 150 baht. For souvenirs, you can buy it cheaper in Pattaya.
Adventure? You must go to Chiang Mai and in Pattaya. For sex adventure that’s worth the price, visit the night life of Pattaya.
Night life? Pattaya has a long stretch of gigs where you can have it all.
Thai Men? For safer reason, you ust go to spas and massage so you won’t be charge that much. I was able to date a European Guy in Pattaya while I was just roaming around. Please do safe sex.
Caution? Thais who are selling sex and everything at the street when you are asking for directions.

the last visit i had was in june of this year and it was an amazing experience. I only stayed in one place and that is BABYLON - it was owesome and great though a bit high and upscale in market. if you want to to experience a different kind of service go to that place and i bet you, you will enjoy.. as for me i have plan of coming back there early next year 1st week of January for my Asian tour again…

Shopping: MBK, Chatuchak, Pratunam, Platinum Mall, Suan Lum, Siam Square (where students do their shopping..great finds) frequent sale at Isetan and Zen at Central World.
If you’re going to the weekend market at Chatuchak (Jatujak), cross the road and you’ll see Or Tor Kor Agricultural Market, you can buy fruits, sampaloc, dried fruits and dried seafood, plants, pets, and the food there is really very good and cheap.
Never ride tuktuk!

Migs - I was in Bangkok just last sunday [in transit to somewhere else]. I went out and had a great massage sa body club in sukhumvit. You may want to try, since they have a delectable menu.

try AQUA massage. very good looking men. babylon is still nice to visit but you should try the very discreet SAUNA MANIA at Convent Road. its where the young pro gay guys hang out. shooping….mbk is halfway cheap and halfway fashionable.

If you want to splurge: Emporium, Siam Paragon, Central World, buy silk at Jim Thompson. Have a drink at Sirocco’s Skybar at Lebua Dome State Tower. Try Bed Super Club and Mystique.
Tours: Ayuthaya River Cruise, Chao Phraya Buffet Dinner River Cruise, Vinmanmek, Jim Thompson House, Siam Niramit Show
sauna/spas: my friends recommend Babylon, Chakran and V Club.

tanong ko for those people na nakapunta na
sana sabihin nyo naman kung at least magkano ang dapat na budget na dala mo (with matching shopping on the side ganyan mga gimmick food sex) at for how many days ok ang certain amount kasi me and my friends are planning to go there. thanks.

Kenwa, the modest pocket money a person must bring would be 300 dollars (roughly 10,000 Baht) for 3 days. A massage would cost you 1,500. An entrance to Babylon is 270, DJ Station (famous pub) is 250 inclusive of 2 drinks. For shopping, a complete get-up (shirt and jeans) warrant 500.However, the airport is far from the city center hence the taxi ride is 300 B one way.

*CALOY: Hi there! Are you from Bantayan Is? Favor, can you give me an idea how much a small but decent property would cost me? You see, i am a regular visitor of that heavenly island and when i retire from working overseas, I am planning to spend my retirement in that island. I started going there since i was 23 and now i am 29 but i never got tired of going there since then, despite of the rough and long ride going there.
I would appreciate it much if you could give me a rough idea how much it would cost me for a small lot. By the way, my favorable place would be in Madridejos, by the beach.
Please e-mail me thru mukha79@yahoo.com. Would appreciate it so much. Take care.

A nice massage with great looking guys(and Bodies too) can be found in Hero Massage. Hard to find but most of the concierge in the hotels knows this. Average price would be around 1500-2000T pesos… Service was excellent and they will really treat you like a king.. A nice gay bar in Patphong would be in Tawan Club… off Silom Soi Area(near 7 eleven store) shows starts at 10:30pm and have another show at 12:30… Great looking guys with great great bodies are there… If you would like to bring home this beautiful buff guys, a 600Baht bar fine should be paid and at least pay the guy 2,000 Baht…. thats for the red light area… Its also great to shop at Patphong… Prices are high for some obvious reasons but you should bargain at its 1/4 of its price… Great stuff like an Hermes Belt look a like would cost around 150Baht, Montblanc pen at 150Baht also… Great buys like shirt can be found in MBK… I also compare prices of Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Prada from Bangkok with Singapore, Dubai and London. The prices here are so cheap, and example would be a Louis Vuitton pair of shoe, there is a difference of 10 thousand pesos between Bangkok and Dubai prices… Shopping, sight seeing, great food and of course the men… That’s what all bangkok is all about.. Have fun!

Shopping
Patpong is expensive, tourist trap.
Pratunam sells everything Patpong offers cheaper
Jatuchak (Chatuchak) sells cheapest but only opens on weekends
Imagine Divisoria, imagine six Divisorias, that’s the size of Jatuchak
Boys
Patpong has two sois (streets or eskinitas) with rows of gay bars, again tourist traps
the best gay bars are actually around the area too pero sa mga not so popular sois
Caution
if you do anal, wear condom, its your life saver
Thai prostitution
it’s becoming westernized, the call boys are more feminine than your average parloristas here
just note that prostitution there is like a regular job
Massage parlors
nothing beats Babylon still for the boys if you’re into gay to gay
Magazines and DVD
don’t get ripped off. THEY DO NOT SELL in their country the Thai Gay2Gay movies, go to Hong Kong instead

Even on a budget, I always make it a point to have one meal in an excellent restaurant that serves the best cuisine of the country. In France, although I may not be able to afford three star Michelin restaurants, I would go to a highly recommended place, perhaps with one or two stars (the stars don’t matter), to have a gastronomic feast.
Thailand is considered to have one of the five best cuisines in the world (arguably, France is No. 1 but to me excellent Chinese cuisine for its variety is No. 1 given that media is Western-oriented) so it would be advisable to look for a place that serves excellent Thai food. Reading the travel blogs and the guides, one must not leave Bangkok without tasting its enormous selection of street food. For shoppers, the food stalls at Chatuchak are great. As a rule of the thumb, however, always make sure you don’t drink tap water - the rule applies anywhere in the world where you’re not sure of the quality of the water - take bottled water or a soda. For street food anything boiled in front of you is ok, anything grilled properly is also ok. Look at the surroundings and the general hygiene of the food stall proprietor. He shouldn’t be mixing raw food with cooked food (a source of staph), the hamds must be clean and he should not handle food directly unless he washes after holding money, etc. Bangkok the rest of Thailand are a foodies paradise - apart from being a shopper’s Mecca and a massage afficionado’s dream city.
Any suggestions of favorite places to eat in between forays to Chatuchak, Hero, Albury, Babylon and Silom are highly appreciated.
One suggestion, the Japanese sashimi and sushi at the Oriental in Bangkok - first rate blue fin tuna sashimi and other treats. Also try its lunch buffet at least once!

Patpong 1 and 2 is not a place for gays its for straight guys. Unless you are inclined to watch that ping pong shows. If you want to do a gay bar hopping then visit Silom and Surawong Road.
If you are traveling in a limited budget and wanted to get a relaxing and decent massage and spa try Healthland along Sathorn Road, it’s a classy and nice place its very close to BTS Surasak Station. A 2 hour massage is worth 250 baht for coupon holder and 350 baht for non coupon holder. There are plenty of massage parlors along silong road an hour oil massage is worth 450-500 baht and 250 baht for thai massage.
Food Fuji, MK, Shau Shabu by Oishi and Sizzlers….if you want to indulge in a cheap thai food try Yum Sap you can find it in World Trade, MBK and other malls.
Platinum Mall in Pratunam is good to shop for clothing. But still I prefer to shop in Suan Lum Night Bazar. JJ is place where you can find everything. Spare a day if you want to shop there. For gadgets and electronics try Pantip but beware examine well the things you are buying.
