I just got a call from Jay Javier, well-known photographer and owner of Fotofabrik Studio in Quezon City. Let me just say that I have personally met Jay early this year during Jay Aquitania’s shoot for Roxxxanne. Jay impressed me as a kind, generous, and good-natured person, and therefore I take his word as honest and sincere. He categorically said that it was him who took the Dave Rebolledo photos now in circulation in the blogosphere, showing the model baring the full monty — problem is, Dave was not really in the nude when those photos were taken.
Jay told me how a certain Photoshop expert named Paolo stole the original Dave Rebolledo pics from his office’s computer (Paolo worked in Jay’s office for a time), and “adjusted” the photos to show Dave in the buff. He swears how good this Paolo is in Photoshop that he can do that kind of magic.
To prove to me that he was indeed the photographer of the original, un-Photoshopped photos, he sent the following images that came from the same set.
Along with the photos was Jay’s statement:
Attached are the two photos from Dave’s set. They are from the same set as those which had been photoshopped by Paolo ******. I would want to show you the originals which had been the basis of Paolo’s fakes, but these were all lost when the HD which Paolo took without my permission got corrupted from improper handling. These two survived because they were selected and copied for the short list which Dave wanted to use for his setcards and photos.
Considering this, and judging from Dave’s infamous shots, that Paolo must really be a Photoshop Guru of sorts. The photos look so authentic! Jay mentioned somebody saying something like “Paolo has feelings for Dave since their college days,” — but whatever the intent of the supposed propaganda is, it’s, in my opinion, immaterial at the moment. The logic of doing such escapes me, and I’ll just let it be.
Of course, amidst all these hullaballoo, the victim left in the cold is no other than Dave himself. I asked Jay how Dave is taking all these, and he replied, “ayun, depressed. Pinatawag na nga siya ng HR ng company nila to explain.” I feel for the guy.
Dave, if you are reading this, know that regardless whether those nude shots were authentic or not, I, Migs the Manila Gay Guy, symphatizes with you during this very tough time. I’m familiar with such feeling and I can say it’s really the pits. Remember though what that famous folktale says: “this too shall pass.” Let me add, too: Fire is the Test of Gold; Adversity, of Strong Men.

i highly doubt those were photoshopped. if only the photographer could have provided the original images (instead of 2 shots that were simply just part of the set). but as he said, he lost them. how convenient.

But why would you publish Jay Javier’s explanation without Paolo’s explanation, to be fair about the whole thing? Nobody believes the photog because he himself released the photos to a certain Arnold, his good friend and Paolo’s former manager. You know fully well that those were not photoshopped. Ask Mr. Javier to send the original photo vis-a-vis the photoshopped one. I’m pretty sure there is none of the sort.

The thing is, bringing this sort of weak explanation out is not helping Dave R. at all. It’s only adding curiosity. Just take commenter #5 now asking where to find those photos. If I really wanted this thing to die down, I’d just keep quiet unless I can give out a really strong, indisputable evidence that the photos were conned. In the first place, I doubt anyone in here was demanding an explanation.
That’s just how it goes. You present facts, we roll it around our head and think, and then we comment and react. It’s not being malicious or insensitive towards Dave if we’re not swayed to think the way you’d have us. If we’re not convinced the photos were fake. Or if we’re inclined to think this is now some kind damage control.
In fact, most of the commenters so far have been sympathetic to Dave even if they’re unconvinced of the Photoshop job. And it’s to Dave’s benefit, to other models’, and to other photogs’ that they call out on the irresponsibility and unprofessionalism of this situation. C’mon, secure and backup your freakin’ photos and equipment if your story is true. And it’s your photos anyway, so sue this Paolo guy! Demand an apology or something. Make him squirm instead of hiding his last name under asterisks. You owe it to Dave.

i dont think the photos are “retokado”. when i first saw the photos at a yahoogroup, i immediately showed it to my friend who is in editing and computer and digital graphics producer and he said that those pics are the real deal. Im kinda sad for him coz I know that aside from modelling, he is a medical representative and its just a shamed that someone from prestigous company could think of posing nude, considering the culture’s company. tsk tsk poor dave..

To know if it’s fake or not, magnify nyo hanggang magpixelize. Kapag nakita ninyo na bura bura at magulo ang pixels, then it’s a fake. I did. Buong-buo at malinis ang pixels. At ang lighting aminin. Tamang tama ang bagsak.

The point is the photos were published with malicious intent (no consent if they were real or otherwise). I also think it is sad really that the idea that a photographer taking nude pictures or a model having his pictures taken nude is detrimental to their reputation or careers. Both Dave and Jay are the aggrieved parties, we should not be nailing them on the cross but rather be supportive of their plight. Respect their wishes for their photos. It was their privacy that was violated not anyone else’s.

Did Dave made the mistake of posing nude? I don’t think so, if they don’t have any intention at all to publish it, why then would he allow himself to be photographed that way. It’s not like those pics were stolen shots, and on the contrary, he not only posed nude, but got hard for it, so the real question is why?. The circumstance of him being a helpless victim in all these is quite questionable… Could this just be another cheap shot to stardom? Why else would he allow these pics to be taken if there wouldn’t be any purpose for it. Even if they say that it was leaked by some psycho who has a crush on him is lame, if i were the psycho, I would just blackmail him into going to bed with me, why would I bother on posting it over the internet. This is all lame.

Ako, Nakita ko ang mga larawan. Bilang isang tagahanga ng mga litratong hubad. Siyempre natuwa ako sa mga larawan ni Dave. Bilang Bakla na tagahanga ng mga lalaking may magagandang katawan. Oo naman ako ay tuwang tuwa. Hindi ko man lang naisip na may isyu pala dito. Nalungkot ako na malaman na di pala alam ni Dave na ipopost pala ito sa net. Nakakainis nga naman ‘yun. Pero may karapatan naman siyang mag demanda kung ito ay nagbunga ng matinding kahihiyan at insulto sa pagkatao niya. Lalong lalo na kung ang mga larawan ay totoo ngang niretoke at nilagyan ng dambuhalang titi. Na kay Dave ang aking simpatiya. Kawawa nga naman siya lalo na’t maapektuhan ang kanyang trabaho. Naiisip ko na lang na sa isang banda baka magkarron din ito ng maganda at positibong resulta. Antayin niya lang dahil marami rami din naman ang nakakita ng mga naturang larawan.

ano veh? mga sisters…matagal na akong gumagamit ng photoshop dahil kailangan yan sa trabaho…based sa mga larawang nakita ko, eh pawang totoo at walang halong photoshop ang mga larawan na iyon! bakit kailangan pang ideny? eh halatang halata na rin naman? kung ginawa nya yun sana inisip nya muna na baka lumabas lahat iyan sa internet…naku naman parang nasa 1990s tayo at walang mga ganyan ano veh? nasa internet age na po tayo mga ateh! lahat pwedeng kumalat…hay naker aminin na lang kasi noh?

i believe that these photos where NOT altered digitally. the REAL VICTIM here is that paolo guy who they said is the culprit who digitally altered these pics. kahit siguro mga taga pixar di kayang gawin ang mga pics na yan kung digitally altered nga siya. moral of the story kung gagawa ka ng mga actions na alam mong dehado ka you have to think more than ten times kasi dapat isipin mo kung ano ang kahihinatnan nito in the future. anything that happens to you is your own doing.

wala ng dapat aminin dahil kahit ilang beses pa nila i-deny, wala naman maniniwalang photoshopped yung pics no!!! sa dami ng magaling magphotoshop dito, imposible nilang mapagtakpan ng ganung alibi ang katotohanan!!! sa ginagawa nilang yan lalo lang nilang nilalagay under scrutiny ang pics ni dave, dahil madami ang gustong mag-disprove na di nga photoshopped ang pics, ngayun pati mga straight na di interesado sa ganung pics e tinitingnan na rin yun para malaman kung fake nga o hindi… sila rin ang gumagawa ng sarili nilang multo… lalo lang napatunayan ang authenticity ng pics! dahil kahit di magaling magphotoshop e masasabi na imposibleng digitally altered ang ganung pics dahil sobra ang consistency, buti kung isang pic lang yun, kaso ang dami po!!! hello! gawin bang tanga ang mga tao…

kun sino man nagsabing fake ang nude shots nya ay bobo at di nag iisip. hindi ba posible na hubad na cya after ng 2 shots na ito? we were actually suprised, in awe i would say that dave posed in the nude, at first we thought it was a hoax but when i saw all the clear shots, i’ve concluded they were indeed real! he came from a well off family and works in unilab, i wonder what made him go through this, for fame? i have all the 9-10 shots and i swear on chanel that they’re all real! ive inspected the face against the body and they’re flawless, all shots match in every proportion. take note of the moles and even the shape of his dick that’s bent to the right is visible in every photo. i’m glad i was able to save before they were all gone from the net, but im not sharing! un lang! haha

katawa namang pagdudahan pa ang photos ni rebolledo. halatang talagang nagpapictorial siya para pag-usapan. okey naman ang notes nya, tamang-tama at kung matikman malamang masarap naman. hindi na nga isyu kung bakit pa siya nagpapictorial or bakit kumalat na sa internet at mga bakla na lang ata sa timbuktu ang hindi pa nakakita nito. walang masama sa pictorial na nakahubad, hindi na nga ito pinagkakaabalahan pa except for titillation purposes. matino na ang mga bading ngayon … if it is pleasurable then it must be good…
