Malate’s Best Tapsilog & Tocino

Everytime the Manila Gay Guy parties in Malate, as expected, till the wee hours, he gets his pre-departure breakfast at Silya.

Yes dear readers, Silya , that hole-in-the-wall along Nakpil (very near the corner of Nakpil and Orosa Streets) serve the best value Tapsilog (tapa-sinangag-itlog) and tocino. Just be prepared to dine al fresco, beside the road and sidewalk, open to solicitation by street beggars and all, but also good for boy watching!

Their tapa is very, very tasty. The accompanying vinegar has just the right spice, sarap! And the tocino? It’s sweet, moist, and tender, just the way I like my tocino. (Just thinking about it makes me hungry!)

The price ain’t bad too, with the tapsilog and tocino priced at less than 100 pesos (roughly $2) each. Great value right?
