Foot Tapping = Cruising for Sex?
In an article by ABC News talking about Larry Craig, a US senator who was arrested for an alleged sex offense, I quote:
…there is a secret world of sex between men that exists in public places across the country… Public places like men’s restrooms, in airports and train stations, truck stops, university libraries and parks, have long been places where gay and bisexual men, particularly those in the closet, congregate in order to meet for anonymous sex.
Then about this secret signal: foot tapping –
“Tapping of the foot is pretty standard for men who cruise in toilets,” said Keith Griffith, owner of Cruisingforsex.com, a Web site on which visitors post locations popular with men looking for anonymous sex. “They will usually go to the stall at the far end of the strip of toilets. They will see each other and usually decide to go someplace else. The vast majority have no interest in being seen. They may be meeting in public locations, but they will be as discreet as possible,” Griffith said.
Honestly, I have not really cruised for sex in public places, so please excuse my ignorance in these things. (By the way, please do NOT treat this as an encouragement to cruise in public places!) This is just out of curiousity… so let me ask these questions:
Does this “foot tapping” also apply here in the Philippines? Here in the Manila Gay Scene? What are the other cruising secret signals gay men normally use here?

i have some stories to share in toronto,
i know a pinoy gay guy got who got stabbed during his escapade in one of the department store bathrooms. apprently, there are some really crazy gay bashers and haters that frequents the place as well. so be very aware coz you just never know.
another one i heard was about this pinoy guy na talagang makapal ang mukha.apparently, he crawled under the cubicles to get to the guy, not the one beside his cubicle but the next one….haha.
now my experience, when i was still in university.at one time i was in our school’s washroom . unaware of such activities, i noticed the guy beside me tapping his foot. so i did the same thing. next thing you know i saw the guy’s head peeping under the partition. guess what, it was my classmate.he was sooo embarrased……so , evrytime he leaves our classroom, we look at each other and i will know not to go, hahaha…

I think part of the reason foot tapping may be common outside the Philippines may have something to do with the prevalence of the kind of toilet cubicles where the partitions does not go all the way down the floor. I must admit I have done it a few times before I settled down.
