“Dirty Old Gay Men”

August 11th, 2007 - Posted on August 11th, 2007

I was at the NBC Tent last night — yes, watching the Provoq men gyrate in their skimpiest you’d think there was a shortage of clothing in Metro Manila. It was my friend Tony who bought me a ticket while I was away last week (thanks Tony!) and he was beaming when we met up at The Fort right before the show, “according to the guy who sold me the VIP tickets, you’d think it will be the matronas and old rich gay men who are buying the VIP tickets — but the profile of those who have bought is actually more of the yuppie types.”

That echoed what I read from the prolific blogger rddantes of the famous Men In The Philippines blog. I thought, either it’s some marketing blurb, or it’s true. Something to confirm, and perhaps get excited about.

“I want to be straight!”

Chinito, an MGG reader, sent this letter, and is asking for an intelligent opinion regarding his situation. Can you help me give him some advice?

Hey Migs, how’s life?

I’m one of the avid readers of your posts, I really love your articles although I still haven’t tried your podcasts because I don’t know how to.

By the way, the reason why I’m writing this mail is because I’d just like to seek for an intelligent opinion or perhaps an advice on my predicament.

I used to be a proud gay, although I’m not the type who would cross dress or hang out in gay spots, It has become a way of life for me, I don’t get mad when my friends call me bakla or when they tease me with other guys. I’m not really effeminate but I m soft spoken and I dress sophisticatedly and my fingers are always “mapilantik”. I dig Top Model, Mariah Carey and moreno guys, but lately something weird is happening to me.

Are you one of those who feel down when it’s rainy and wet outside? Well, here’s something to make the sun shine on you. Funny!

We’ ve been friends for a long time ago. We come from the same alma mother. Actually, our paths crossed one time on another. But it’s only now that I gave him a second look. I realized that beauty is in the eyes. The pulpbits of my heart went fast, really fast. Cute pala siya. And then, he came over with me. He said, “I hope you don’t mine. Can I get your number?” Nag-worry ako. What if he doesn’t give it back? He explained naman na it’s so we could keep intact daw. Sabi ko, connect me if i’m wrong but are you asking me ouch? Nabigla siya. Sagot niya, The! Aba! Parang siya pa ang galit! Persona ingrata!!! Ang kapal niya! I cried buckles of tears. Read the rest of this entry »

What a Beautiful Day!

July 30th, 2007 - Posted on July 30th, 2007

You can proactively create your day — that’s one of the lessons I learned from the New Age film “What The Bleep Do We Know.” So instead of thinking of bad traffic, grumpy boss/officemates, and tons of workload…. think of beautiful, pleasant things. Think flowers. Think World Peace. Think Migs. Think beauty. Think Dave Rebolledo.
