Reuben Uy is one of the 12 finalists of MTV Philippines’ VJ in eager anticipation of finals night, set for June 22 at the Music Hall of the SM Mall of Asia. Because I’m partial to chinito boys… he’s my bet! Even if Brent Javier is in the running, Reuben pa rin ako! Hehehe!

Suspended

For the regular readers, I am sure you have seen the “suspended” messages once more. The reason for this is the high volume of traffic this site is receiving. Sumusuko na po ang server na inuupahan ko sa dami ng nakiki-chika sa atin. What a good problem to have, di po ba? And so I’m looking for a better, more capable web host. Loving could be a lot like watching a 20-minute fireworks display — exciting, emotional, romantic, sweet, memorable. But it always ends as dramatic as it began; it fades slowly into thin air, and as much as you want to keep watching, there is nothing to make it stay. In the end, all there is left is the starless night, and the fact that in this life, some good things never seem to last…

Should I Come Out to Mom?

So Gibbs texted me one day, inviting me to join a dinner date with 2 other bloggers. One was Anthony, a closeted gay guy (majority of his blog readers do not know he’s as fairy as the Fairy Godmother), and the other was Mira, a fine lady of regal bearing, and belonging to the senior citizenry. At first I thought it was such an awkward mix, but boy was I wrong!

Like a diesel engine, the dinner conversation started cold and for the first several minutes, I was just listening to the three bloggers talk about many varied things. Until I felt the need to spruce the conversation up a bit. I focused on Mira, and asked, “Since you’re from a different generation, I am very interested to hear your thoughts on gay people.”

Silence.

Then she most carefully said, “One of my sons is gay.”
