Yes, dear readers, I’ve featured Dante Balboa here a couple of times before (here and here). So why feature him again, right? Well, with that bubble behind, I just couldn’t help myself. Sexy! Classic beauty! Chinito Pinoys, mabuhay kayo!

What If One Day You Wake Up…

September 23rd, 2007 - Posted on September 23rd, 2007

…and you find yourself suddenly a straight guy?

A witty friend was asked this question, and without batting an eyelash, answered “then I’ll go back to sleep!”

Funny, but lemme ask you the same question:

What would you do if one day you wake up and find yourself as a straight guy?

A follow up would be, given the chance to switch from gay to straight, would you do it?

Art as Therapy

September 22nd, 2007 - Posted on September 22nd, 2007

img_0479.jpg

Napapansin ko lang, when I feel down I get to spend more time in the arts. Like last Friday. Admittedly, I was feeling off, not bitchy off, but pleasant off. Yes, still had that pleasant aura, but was feeling awkwardly off. I suspect it’s my heart. It’s been pining for some time now. For someone to love, to hold, and all that cheesy, cheesy stuff. And so in the absence of the Great One, I turn to the arts. I heard that there was this hip art exhibit opening in Fully Booked (Bonifacio High Street, Fort Bonifacio) and so I went…

Writer-Bloggers

September 22nd, 2007 - Posted on September 22nd, 2007

They are writers who at one point decided to join the blogging bandwagon. I like reading them because they are really good at what they are doing — writing. Some of their recent posts are notable:

carver150.jpg 1. Carlo Vergara, creator of our favorite parlorista superheroine Zsazsa Zaturnnah, tells us that the first half of “Zaturnnah: In Manila” (the most awaited sequel) has gone out for script editing. I’m excited! Soon we shall see the full sequel, and yes I’ll be one of the first to grab a copy. And another update, good news to Cebuanos! The Zaturnnah musical (Ze Tour Nah!) may find itself in Cebu this November. Bongga!

junlana-s.jpg 2. Jun Lana relates how he struggled to bring his dream project “Roxxxanne” into reality. It’s his dream film about texting, cellphones, and OF COURSE, homosexuality. Come October 10, however, incidentally his birthday too, it will have its premiere showing at the UP Film Center. Jun emailed me last night saying that he is sending me 20 tickets to the premiere, reserved for MGG readers. Bait di ba?! I still don’t know the mechanics of how to distribute those tickets — let me think about that and let you know once the tickets are in my hands na. Watch out for it!

gibbs_moscow.jpg 3. Gibbs Cadiz, writer and desk editor of the Lifestyle section of the Phil. Daily Inquirer, champion and promoter of Philippine theater, a good friend and podcasting partner (The Troikasters, with McVie), is celebrating his 37th birthday today. Happy birthday, Gibbs!

Sanctuario Spa Opens in QC

September 21st, 2007 - Posted on September 21st, 2007

Sanctuario Spa opens its Quezon City branch today, September 21, 2007, offering clients 30% off from their services’ list price until end of October. Unlike their Malate counterpart, this Sanctuario Spa boasts of an all-VIP massage rooms (1 bed per room) totalling 8 in the premise (4 VIP rooms for men, 4 for women). They also have 2 couple’s rooms. (Note: their wet area is very small compared to the one in Malate; 3 pax max capacity for the sauna and steam rooms.) They are located at #30 Esguerra Ave. (formerly Bohol), on top of Autosource, beside the defunct Country Waffles, near ABS-CBN. Give them a call at (02) 920-9970 for inquiries.

I will personally check this out and let you know my verdict!

Chris Cayzer, fine young thing

September 21st, 2007 - Posted on September 21st, 2007

Chris finds and loses himself in his music, sharing every note and lyric intimately with his audience. Whether performing in a crowded bar or to a small group of close family and friends, when Chris sings the world before you fades away – all eyes are on him. If you ever have the opportunity to see him perform live, you’ll find his energy contagious and be captivated by his dynamic stage presence. The self-taught musician and singer is gifted with a natural and raw yet first-class voice. Most people are blown away by how young he is.
