How to be a Culture Vulture

April 20th, 2007 - Posted on April 20th, 2007

Gays are somehow known to have a little bit more culture in their system than the average Joe/Juan. Well if you think this is true in your case, raise your hand! If not, well, it’s not the end of the world. The Filipinas Heritage Library is running a series of Filipino Art Appreciation lectures and discussions… if you’re interested, read on. James Younghusband, footballer

April 20th, 2007 - Posted on April 20th, 2007

There is something about athletic hunks (not the cultured, made-in-the-gym kind of hunks) that tugs us deep inside, and makes us want to put them in a pedestal to hold and behold. Such is James Younghusband, a British-Filipino footballer, whose entrance to my consciousness made my fallopian tubes twirl itself to a happy ribbon. “Let me catch my breath…”

April 18th, 2007 - Posted on April 18th, 2007

“…before you take it away.”

* * *

I heard this line as I was watching one of the first few episodes of “Heroes.” It caught my attention not because I identified with it, rather because I want to identify with it. The character who said the line just came out of a relationship, and she’s talking to someone who has just professed love to her.

People who have religiously followed MGG would have surmised that I just came out of a relationship (November 2006). I’ve been trying to enjoy single life since then, and while several have hovered around, none has in fact captured my focused attention. Truth is, paranoia has started to creep in… perhaps I will never ever meet anyone again who will “take my breath away” — and I get to think, are my standards too high? kerwin05.jpg

Kerwin Yap was part of Mossimo Bikini Summit (MBS 2005). He looks very Chinese to me, and no that’s not too much of a problem, besides he’s got these really plump lips (nice!) - although I admit he’s too skinny for my taste. Some people like them skinny though… so enjoy Kerwin.
